Biography: Upon graduating from high school in 2008, Ashley began studying journalism and public relations at the University of Memphis on an honors scholarship. Since her move to Memphis she has been actively involved in her university as well as the community. She has held the offices of Alumnae Relations, Operations and Recruitment for Alpha Gamma Delta. In spring 2010, her sorority teamed up with 2 other greek organizations in the annual Greek Sing to raise money for Special Olympics in Memphis, TN. As the chair, she lead the group to first place in the overall competition as well as winning Best Costumes, Best Solo, Best Props while raising the most money for the cause. Through Alpha Gam Ashley has made sugar free cookie mix to hand out to diabetics at the annual JDRF Walk in Memphis. Ashley has also enjoyed raising money for St. Jude through Up TilÕ Dawn on campus. She is also a proud member of the most spirited Tiger fans on campus, Blue Crew. After losing her grandmother to breast cancer, she found a certain peace and sense of accomplishment by being involved with the Susan G. Komen FoundationÕs "Race for a Cure". She also volunteers with the Ronald McDonald House, Grizzlies House, Darryl Worley Foundation and Fest for Friends for individuals battling HIV and Aids.
Ashley participated in the Pat Kerr 30th Anniversary Fashion Show & Retrospective that benefitted several West Tennessee charities ~ Area Relief Ministries, Darryl Worley Cancer Treatment Center, Jackson Center for Independent Living, Memphis Charitable Foundation and Regional Inter-Faith Association. She has also traveled to schools across the state encouraging students to live a healthy life and fulfill their dreams.
During the summer of 2009 Ashley had the life-changing opportunity to study fashion journalism and photography in Paris, France through AIU. She was also able to visit many parts of France as well as London and Berlin during her stay. Through living under the confines of foreign culture she gained the sense of having a greater perspective of the world around her, to appreciate societal differences such as cuisine, language, social customs, and economics
